According to a 3000 year old legend, it was King Jamshid of Persia who discovered sugar on the first day of spring (the word " candy" is actually said to originate from the Persian word "qand"; that means sugar ). Baking cookies is an old, cherished  tradition in Persian households. The cookies at Shirini Sara "Pastry House" are prepared using a mix of family and traditional recipes.
